Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare an 8x8 baking dish by coating it with cooking spray.
For the Bars:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cookie mix (reserve the cinnamon mixture), beaten egg, and softened butter until a dough is achieved.
Press approximately two-thirds of the dough evenly into the base of the prepared dish, leaving the remainder for topping.
Layer the apple pie filling over the bottom crust made from the dough.
Dollop the remaining one-third of the dough over the apple filling in small spoonfuls.
Sprinkle the reserved cinnamon sugar mixture on top of all the layers.
Bake in your preheated oven for about 50 to 55 minutes, until the top turns a lovely golden color.
Allow the bars to cool thoroughly. While cooling, mix the glaze in a small bowl, gradually adding milk until reaching the desired thickness.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars once they have completely cooled.
Cut into squares; this recipe typically yields 9 bars.
