These delightful cinnamon roll bread twists combine soft dough with a rich cinnamon-sugar filling, twisted for a perfect bite of sweetness. Ideal for breakfast or a fun snack!
In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Allow the mixture to sit for approximately 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Incorporate softened butter, 3 cups of flour, and salt. Mix on low speed with a dough hook for about 3-4 minutes until the dough begins to form. If the dough remains sticky, gradually add more flour until it pulls away from the bowl.
Transfer the dough into a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rest for 30-45 minutes or until it nearly doubles in size.
For Filling and Twisting:
While the dough rises, prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Melt the butter in a small bowl, and in another bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.
Roll the dough out on a floured work surface into a rectangle measuring approximately 9 by 15 inches and ¼ to ½ inch thick.
Cut the rolled dough into 12 strips using a pizza cutter. Halve each strip lengthwise, ensuring that the two halves remain attached at one end.
Brush melted butter over both sides of each strip, then sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Twist the two halves of each strip together and seal the ends. Arrange the twists on the prepared baking sheet and cover them. Allow them to rise for another 20 minutes.
Baking:
While the twists rise, preheat your oven to 350°F.
Once the twists have puffed up, bake them for 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown.
Remove the twists from the oven and allow them to cool for at least 10 minutes before enjoying!
