After a long week, John and I cooked one of our favorite meals last night, Spicy Brown Sugar Chicken Tenders. There’s a small Irish pub in town that has the absolute best wings around, and we’ve come up with a copycat recipe for them. They are so amazing, I can’t even begin to tell you. You will just have to try them out for yourself!
These tenders have just the right amount of heat to them, and they just sort of melt in your mouth. They are great paired with a side of fries, or macaroni salad, but I’d eat them with just about anything. They are also great on nachos, paired with sharp white cheddar cheese, or even in a breakfast omelet. The pub actually has an omelet on their menu with these wings in them. Spicy chicken omelets. Seriously. And they are gooooood.
Here’s the recipe for these delicious Spicy Brown Sugar Chicken Tenders. Enjoy!
Spicy Brown Sugar Chicken Tenders
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. chicken tenders
- 1 bottle Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
- 1.5 Cups Light Brown Sugar
Instructions
- Cook chicken tenders in a skillet with olive oil at medium heat until brown on the outside, and cooked through.
- While chicken is cooking, mix 1/2 of the bottle of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and the brown sugar in a separate pot. Heat on low heat, stirring occasionally. Save the remainder of the bottle for next time!
- When chicken tenders are done cooking, transfer them to a cutting board and cut them up into smaller pieces. You don’t have to do this step if you don’t want to, but I find they soak up the sauce better this way. I also cut the chicken AFTER it has been cooked, as I like that “shredded” texture they get.
- Place cut chicken into pot with spicy brown sugar sauce, and let simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Serve chicken with ranch or blue cheese dressing and garnish with celery slices.
